The Middle East is an area where cars and truck is king and fuel is inexpensive, typically leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.

But this year, as protests across the have pushed up the cost of oil, the issue of discovering alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.

In an area that has one of the highest carbon footprints in the world, one company is benefiting from the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
